Marbleized
About
Artworks or design objects whose entire surface, or parts within it, appear to be made out of polished marble. Throughout history, objects and walls of homes have been painted to look like marble; marbleizing was particularly popular in Rome, during the Renaissance, and in 19th-century Britain, where Thomas Kershaw was considered the most influential practitioner.
