Mexican Muralism
About
A movement, inspired by the idealism of the Mexican Revolution, that stressed the country’s indigenous, pre-European history and culture. The works were typically political, epic in scope, and executed in public places to increase the Mexican people’s awareness of and pride in their heritage. The best-known muralists are José Clemente Orozco and Diego Rivera
