The Noguchi Museum was founded and designed by internationally renowned Japanese-American artist and designer Isamu Noguchi (b. 1904, Los Angeles; d. 1988, New York) for the display of what he considered to be representative examples of his life’s work. Today, The Noguchi Museum—chartered as The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum—manages the world’s largest and most extensive collection of Noguchi’s work, his complete archives, and Catalogue Raisonné; and presents diverse special exhibitions that offer an expansive view of Noguchi’s art and illuminate his enduring influence as a multicultural, cross-disciplinary innovator.
